Join native Egyptologist Hala Aly as you explore the many festivals of Ancient Egypt. These festivals for Egyptians have been a way to celebrate life and have served as a religious practice. There are hundreds of festivals in Egypt, but this course will focus on some of the major festivals that have been celebrated in Ancient Egypt and are still being celebrated today. Many of these festivals tie into the natural world, such as the harvest celebration before the flood. These festivals also tie into Egyptian religion, such as with the beautiful meeting between Horus and Hathor. In this course, you will learn about the many festivals of Ancient Egypt and which ones are still celebrated today. You will also learn the various rituals that go along with these Ancient celebrations.
