A juju fetish is a charmed talisman that possesses various ingredients that range from a combination of animal curios, roots, herbs, and fabric-based upon what the “prescription” and purpose is towards. The practice of Juju is rooted in West Africa but now a type of magic appropriated and enlisted across the entire African continent by traditional tribal workers and healers. Each Juju Fetish is created to be a “body” that is enveloped by forces that include animal and plant spirits as well as empowered roots and stones. How a particular Juju looks depends on divination and communication with entrusted spirits that help prescribe and charm the fetish for its purpose. The Juju Fetish created in this class with Witchdoctor Utu is a prescribed and accepted talisman towards a specific purpose that includes specific animal parts, a specific body, and structure to house the magic that you will make and charm together for you to bring home and work with.
