Full Schedule

New Orleans has given us two legends in the form of Dr. John. The first was Dr. John Montanee said to have practiced Voodoo and drummed for the rites of legendary Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. Some believe he was a Senegalese nobleman who traveled back and forth to Africa keeping the old traditions alive. Modern times has graced us with the music legend that is Dr. John, aka Mac Rebennack. To all who heard him Dr. John was pure magick. I worked with him, I danced with him, I laughed with him, he was like a second father to me, and above all I loved him. In this workshop I will talk about our rituals, and services we performed both in private, and on stage in front of thousands. As part of the workshop we will examine his classic recordings like

  • Walk on Gilded Splinters
  • Gris Gris Gumbo Yaya
  • Danse Fambeaux
  • My Indian Red
  • And others
