Magic can be both a journey to the self as well as a network of spiritual power shared amongst one’s community of fellow practitioners. There are times in our lives when we yearn for the strength that comes from standing in space with others of like mind and magical potency that both our spells and our honor of the old gods sings with greater resonance. There are also times that we must walk away from what can sometimes be the confines of community in order to find our inner purpose. How does one take a break without feeling as though they’re abandoning the traditions they hold sacred? How can both leaders and laity in such traditions create processes by which it doesn’t have to be the end of the world when someone of their number simply has to adjourn for a while, and how can they provide a road home for those who wish to step back into the circle once more? And how do we as individuals know when it’s time to take a step back and when it’s time, if ever, to return? Panelists and participants alike will have an opportunity to share personal successes and failures, discuss what works and what doesn’t, and offer hope for those who are pondering a change of direction or heart. This panel discussion features Dorothy Morrison, Lady Rhea, Mulysa Mayhem, Patricia Telesco, Rosemary Ellen Guiley, and Sorita d'Este.
