Full Schedule

The mojo bag, otherwise known as the mojo hand, is one of the Americas’ most legendary amulets. A form of carrier magic, the mojo hand has a unique history that has roots in a combination of West African animism and North American rootwork. While the mojo hand has varying ingredients and formulas depending on the region and era, there are some specifics that are best adhered to for the prayer bag and the spirits housed within to remain sacred and integral.

One of the most overlooked aspects of the mojo hand is its legacy within the Underground Railroad, carried by its freedom seekers and supporters alike, and for this workshop, the mojo hand that will be created is sourced directly from Underground Railroad conjure and lore, with a direct connection to the Crescent City of New Orleans.

This workshop will feature:

  • All materials will be supplied for the class
  • A history of the mojo hand and its legacy
  • How to empower and awaken the roots, dirts, and organic matter within the mojo hand
  • A step-by-step process as the mojo hand is finally assembled, birthed, blessed, and ready for you to carry
