Full Schedule

During the transatlantic slave trade, enslaved Africans brought their spiritual traditions to the Americas, one of which includes the infamous mojo hand or gris-gris. In the United States, particularly in the South like here in New Orleans, these Ancestral practices blended with the local Indigenous people’s and European folk magic, to create what is often referred to as Hoodoo or Rootwork and of course in the recognizable New Orleans Voodoo. In this class you’ll learn the customs, traditions and the creations of the power within the living Spirit of the Mojo hand, and all the ways you too might harness the power of the Ancestors.
